vintage intertwined serpents snakes clip reptile

Description

This is a vintage serpent clip. I am not entirely sure how it was originally used, as there is a clip that you can push to open and then a separate clip that sort of would hook on something. Please see photos for this. Measures 2" x 1.75" at the widest points. Could be used as a clip of some sort or repurposed for a crafts project. None of the eyes have stones in them; it looks as though perhaps stones could fit in them, but it does not look as though they all came out or something like that, so I don't think there were stones in there at the beginning. There are some chips in the gold plate here and there, particularly on the tip of one end, but this blends in to the dark goldtone color of the piece.
