They use a snap-clamp type closure and come with a vintage rose-colored (also light blue rhinestone available) 3/4" diameter faceted glass rhinestone for you to adhere thus completing the piece. (Rhinestones are easily glued onto the setting. Allow 24 hours for the glue to set. Then they're ready to use. Just slide a Scarf Holder up the scarf and press to hold it in place.
