Mason Ironstone was invented around 1810s by Miles Mason with the help of his three sons, Williams, George and Charles Mason. Charles Mason patented the word "Ironstone" for his porcelain around 1813, Ironstone consisted of clay and china stones. During this period, Charles employed the best potters and painters he could find for his products.
