A beautiful Mason’s plate in the Lotus pattern which compromised an entire dinner service, this 8.5” size probably for dessert.
Very thickly potted with raised panels around the rim, each dish weighs just shy of 1 pound.
Lavishly hand painted in an imari palette with bright orange-reds, pinks, aquas, blues and greens and detailed gilding.
In superb condition with no wear or scratches to the surfaces; the gilding is wonderfully intact.
This plate has a hairline which I believe is a firing crack and not damage, shows 1/4” on the front and 1/2” on the back, see close up pic.
It has Masons typical orange lustre around the rims which has worn in some spots.
Impressed with the one line MASON’S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA mark used between 1813 and 1820.
