Description
Antique Mason's Patent Ironstone Open Footed Serving Bowl Tureen.In unusual green & red Japan pattern colors.
10.75" dia x 6.5" h c. 1845-48.
Round with shaped top & foot & 10 alternating wide & narrow fluted sides, double low bracket handles.
Japan pattern of overlapping pairs of square white ground landscape views on red & green ground richly decorated with scroll, vines, flower, & diapers in gilt, light blue, orange, white & brown on tan.
Mason's Patent Ironstone China crown & curtain mark in red. Godden mark # 2528, "c. 1845+" of Charles & James Mason, Fenton Works, Lane Delph, Staffordshire, c. 1845-48.
Fine clean condition. Glaze crazing faintly visible on the unpainted ground. Bit of paint only chipping to the red framing of the views of little matter.
